Gordon Ramsay’s Boxwood Cafe
Boxwood Café is a bar and a restaurant located at Wilton Place, Knightsbridge, London. Started in May 2003 by Gordon Ramsay, this café meets the high standards of similar restaurants in New York and other places around the world. While Ramsay himself is chef patron, the former chef of Daniel’s in New York, Stuart Gillies is the executive chef.
He has an innovative mind and his ideas have been instrumental in Boxwood Café’s success. The restaurant has been designed by the famous designer from California, Barbara Barry.
The ambience and atmosphere inside Boxwood is relaxed and calm. A highlight of this restaurant is its private dining place, called the Willow Room. This can seat up to 16 people, and is much sought after for parties and other social events. One can hear soft music in the background, and this restaurant is popular among both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. The lunch here is quite expensive, but is worth the money. The Butternut squash deserves special mention because of its uniqueness, and the A La carte menu includes Baked Orkney scallops, Dedham Vale beef, and many other delicacies. The dessert and wine lists are extensive and the chocolate ice-cream is the pick of the lot. Because of its popularity, last minute reservations are almost non-existent, though one can book the Willow Room well in advance.
